THRSP (Thyroid Hormone Responsive, also called SPOT14 or S14) is a small nuclear protein that links thyroid hormone signalling to fatty acid and triglyceride synthesis in lipogenic tissues such as liver, white adipose and the lactating mammary gland. This Antibodies.com reagent is an unconjugated rabbit polyclonal antibody raised against the human THRSP protein, supplied at 1 mg/ml in PBS with 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol, and packaged as a 100 µl vial intended for storage at -20 °C to preserve antibody activity across multiple freeze-thaw cycles.

Validated for western blot, immunohistochemistry and immunofluorescence on human samples, the antibody allows researchers to detect endogenous THRSP in hepatocytes, adipocytes and mammary epithelial cells, where its expression is induced by triiodothyronine (T3), glucose and insulin. Polyclonal reactivity against multiple epitopes of the target supports robust signal in lysate-based and fixed-tissue workflows, and the unconjugated format gives users freedom to pair it with HRP, biotin or fluorophore-labelled secondaries of their choice.

Typical research applications include studies of hepatic and adipose lipid metabolism, lactation biology, and characterisation of THRSP expression in hepatocellular carcinoma, breast cancer, obesity and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease. Each vial is supplied for research use only and contains sufficient reagent for multiple western blots or staining runs depending on working dilution.
