This rabbit polyclonal IgG reagent from Antibodies.com targets Transglutaminase 1 (TGM1), the keratinocyte-specific enzyme responsible for catalyzing isopeptide cross-links during assembly of the cornified cell envelope in the outer epidermis. By binding the TGM1 protein, the unconjugated antibody supports studies of terminal epidermal differentiation, barrier formation, and keratinization biology in human and rat model systems, including work on lamellar ichthyosis and other TGM1-linked skin disorders.
Validated applications include Western blot and immunohistochemistry, allowing detection of the endogenous TGM1 target in cell lysates and formalin-fixed tissue sections respectively. The reagent is supplied as 50 µl of polyclonal antiserum in a single-use vial, sufficient for multiple blots or staining runs depending on dilution. Storage at -20 °C in small aliquots is recommended to limit freeze-thaw cycles and preserve binding activity for ongoing keratinocyte and dermatology research.
