Anti-TGIF2LY Antibody

Raised in rabbit as a polyclonal reagent, this unconjugated primary antibody from Antibodies.com detects the TGIF2LY protein on Western blots prepared from human and rat samples. TGIF2LY (TGFB-induced factor homeobox 2-like, Y-linked) is a Y-chromosomal homeodomain transcription factor expressed predominantly in male germ cells, where it contributes to the transcriptional programs that drive spermatogenesis. Because the antigen sits in the male-specific region of the Y chromosome, the reagent is particularly useful for studies of testis-biased gene regulation, Y-chromosome evolution, and side-by-side comparison with the X-linked paralog TGIF2LX.

Supplied as 100 µl of antibody at 1 mg/ml in phosphate buffered saline (PBS) containing 15 mM sodium azide at approximately pH 7.2, the preparation dilutes cleanly into standard Western blot blocking and incubation buffers. Sodium azide is included as a preservative; for downstream applications where azide interferes, dialysis or buffer exchange into azide-free PBS is recommended before use. The polyclonal host response increases the chance of recognizing multiple epitopes on TGIF2LY, which is helpful when probing endogenous expression in tissue lysates or cell extracts where antigen abundance may be low.
