Tissue Factor Pathway Inhibitor (TFPI) is a Kunitz-type serine protease inhibitor that modulates the extrinsic blood coagulation cascade by inhibiting Factor Xa and the tissue factor–Factor VIIa complex. Endothelial cells are the principal source of circulating TFPI, where it regulates thrombin generation at the cell surface. This unconjugated rabbit polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com is intended for research detection of human TFPI in western blot and ELISA workflows, supporting studies of hemostasis, vascular biology, and thrombotic disease mechanisms.
The polyclonal antibody is supplied as 100 µl of antiserum and is reactive with human TFPI. Researchers use anti-TFPI antibodies to characterize TFPI expression in endothelial and plasma samples, investigate the balance between procoagulant and anticoagulant pathways, and explore TFPI as a candidate biomarker or therapeutic target in conditions such as sepsis, cancer-associated thrombosis, and hemophilia, where TFPI blockade is under active clinical investigation.
