TFIIB (Transcription Factor II B) is a general transcription factor required for RNA polymerase II-mediated initiation at protein-coding genes. It stabilizes the pre-initiation complex and helps position the polymerase at the transcription start site. This unconjugated mouse monoclonal reagent from Antibodies.com is raised against the human target and is validated for western blot, immunohistochemistry, and immunocytochemistry workflows.

Each vial contains 100 µL of purified antibody in 0.1 M Tris-Glycine buffer at pH 7.4 with 150 mM NaCl, 0.2% sodium azide as preservative, and 50% glycerol for freeze protection. The product should be stored refrigerated at 4 degrees C in the supplied buffer; for long-term storage, prepare small aliquots to limit freeze-thaw cycles and preserve binding activity across multiple experiments.

Researchers deploy this antibody to investigate basal and regulated transcription, probe how initiation complexes respond to cellular signaling cues, and analyze chromatin-associated factor recruitment in chromatin immunoprecipitation studies. Because TFIIB is broadly expressed across human cell types, the reagent is also commonly used as a nuclear loading reference in whole-cell and nuclear extract blots. Intended for research use only; not for diagnostic or therapeutic applications.
