Raised in rabbits against the TFDP1 transcription factor, this unconjugated polyclonal IgG preparation is supplied by Antibodies.com as a 200 µl liquid aliquot for research use only. TFDP1, also called DP-1, partners with E2F family members to form the heterodimeric E2F activity that drives the G1-to-S phase transition, and its association with E2F-1 enhances DNA binding and cooperative trans-activation of E2F-responsive loci such as cyclin E, cyclin A, and CDK2, as described in early heterodimerization studies (Helin et al., 1993; Krek et al., 1993). The reagent is validated for Western blot and flow cytometry on human, mouse, and rat samples, and the predicted 45 kDa product is typically observed near 49 kDa on SDS-PAGE. Because the antibody is unconjugated, it can be paired with HRP, biotin, or fluorophore-conjugated secondary reagents; for flow cytometry, intracellular staining of permeabilized cells is the standard configuration. Store at -20 °C, aliquot on receipt, and limit repeated freeze-thaw cycles to preserve polyclonal titer. Useful for studies of proliferation, cell cycle checkpoint control, and downstream E2F-driven transcription, including retinoblastoma-pathway readouts. Intended for research use only; not for diagnostic or therapeutic applications.
