The Antibodies.com KT88 clone is a rat IgG1 monoclonal raised against the Tobacco Etch Virus (TEV) protease recognition epitope (ENLYFQ), a short affinity tag commonly fused to recombinant proteins for site-specific cleavage. Supplied as 200 µg of liquid antibody validated for immunoprecipitation (IP), KT88 enables efficient pull-down of TEV-tagged fusion proteins and their binding partners from cell lysates. Although listed with Human reactivity, the TEV tag is an artificial sequence, so this reagent effectively detects tagged constructs regardless of expression host. Store the vial refrigerated at 4 °C in single-use aliquots to preserve binding activity and limit freeze-thaw damage over time. KT88 is particularly useful for confirming complete removal of His-tagged TEV protease following in vitro cleavage of fusion constructs prior to downstream chromatography or functional assays, and for tracking residual TEV protease contamination in cleared lysate preparations.
