Raised in rabbit against the Ten-Eleven Translocation 3 (TET3) methylcytosine dioxygenase, this unconjugated polyclonal IgG reagent from Antibodies.com targets the C-terminal region of human TET3 and cross-reacts with mouse and rat orthologs, enabling comparative work across standard mammalian model systems. TET3 catalyzes the Fe(II)- and 2-oxoglutarate-dependent iterative oxidation of 5-methylcytosine to 5-hydroxymethylcytosine, 5-formylcytosine, and 5-carboxylcytosine, the oxidative intermediates that drive active DNA demethylation and shape epigenetic reprogramming in zygotes, primordial germ cells, and neurons.

Validated for western blot and immunoprecipitation, the antibody is supplied as a 200 µL liquid aliquot in phosphate-buffered saline with 0.02% sodium azide. Short-term storage is at 4 degrees C; for longer-term stability the reagent should be aliquoted and frozen at -20 degrees C, avoiding repeated freeze-thaw cycles. Researchers use it to track endogenous TET3 protein levels in differentiating embryonic stem cells and to profile the switch between oocyte-loaded and zygotic TET3 during pre-implantation development, to capture TET3-containing chromatin complexes by IP for mass spectrometry of interactors, and to corroborate locus-specific hydroxymethylation readouts generated by hMeDIP, TAB-seq, or bisulfite-based assays in studies of neuronal maturation, oxidative DNA damage response, and cancer epigenetics.
