Tyrosyl-DNA phosphodiesterase 1 (TDP1) hydrolyzes the phosphodiester bond that links topoisomerase I to the 3'-end of DNA, releasing the stalled topoisomerase I-DNA complex during repair of single-strand breaks. The Anti-TDP1 Antibody offered by Antibodies.com is a rabbit polyclonal IgG reagent raised against the human enzyme and supplied in a 200 µl volume for immunofluorescence (IF) workflows on fixed cells and tissue sections.

Produced by immunizing rabbits with recombinant TDP1 antigen and affinity-purified to reduce non-specific staining, the unconjugated antibody recognizes native human TDP1 and supports clear visualization of nuclear and sub-nuclear enzyme localization by IF microscopy. Because the reagent is polyclonal, it binds multiple epitopes on TDP1, which improves signal robustness when target abundance is low. Host species is Rabbit, clonality is Polyclonal, isotype is IgG, conjugate is Unconjugated, and species reactivity is restricted to Human.

Typical research uses include characterization of TDP1 expression in patient-derived cell lines and primary tissue sections, investigation of repair pathway crosstalk following exposure to camptothecin, irinotecan, or other topoisomerase I poisons, and screening of samples for altered TDP1 levels associated with neurodegeneration (including spinocerebellar ataxia with axonal neuropathy, SCAN1) or with cancer drug resistance. Researchers studying chemosensitivity in colorectal or other solid tumors frequently use anti-TDP1 antibodies to monitor repair capacity in tumor material.

For storage, refrigerate the antibody at standard cold-chain conditions, avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles, and protect from light to preserve activity across the shelf life. Single-use aliquots are recommended for high-sensitivity staining protocols.
