Thymine DNA Glycosylase (TDG) is a base excision repair enzyme that removes thymine and uracil from G:T and G:U mispairs in DNA and contributes to active DNA demethylation pathways linked to epigenetic regulation. This polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com is raised in rabbit hosts and specifically recognizes the human TDG protein in its unconjugated form, giving researchers flexibility in choosing secondary detection reagents.

The reagent is supplied as a 100 µl aliquot and is validated for Western blot and immunohistochemistry workflows, making it suitable for protein-level analysis of TDG expression in cultured human cells and in tissue sections. As a polyclonal reagent it targets multiple epitopes on TDG, which is useful for detecting the endogenous protein across a range of expression levels and for tolerating minor variations in sample preparation.

Common research uses include studies of mismatch repair, base excision repair, CpG methylation dynamics, and investigations into cancer biology where TDG activity or expression is altered. Researchers examining interactions between TDG and nuclear receptors such as retinoic acid receptor alpha, or studying the TDG-dependent demethylation of regulatory gene promoters, can use this antibody to confirm expression changes by Western blot of cell lysates or by immunohistochemical staining of paraffin or frozen tissue.

The unconjugated format pairs readily with HRP-, alkaline phosphatase-, or fluorophore-conjugated secondary antibodies, supporting both chromogenic and fluorescence detection in WB membrane imaging and IHC tissue staining protocols.
