Manufactured by Antibodies.com, this rabbit polyclonal reagent is raised against tectonic family member 3 (TCTN3), a membrane-associated protein implicated in ciliogenesis and linked to ciliopathies such as Joubert syndrome. The antibody is produced by immunising rabbits with a recombinant human TCTN3 protein and is affinity-purified on the immunogen, yielding an IgG polyclonal preparation of the unconjugated type, supplied at 1.0 mg/mL in a 50 µl vial. Its formulation is a phosphate-buffered saline (without Mg²⁺ and Ca²⁺) at pH 7.4, containing 150 mM NaCl, 0.02% sodium azide as preservative, and 50% glycerol as cryoprotectant, which gives the reagent good handling stability. The product is shipped at 4 °C and on arrival should be aliquoted and stored at –20 °C, with repeated freeze/thaw cycles avoided to preserve activity. Validated applications include Western blotting (WB) and immunohistochemistry (IHC), where the antibody detects the endogenous total TCTN3 protein in tissue sections and lysates. According to cross-reactivity data published on independent antibody portals, the reagent recognises the target in Human, Mouse and Rat samples, making it suitable for studies spanning human cell lines and rodent disease models. The polyclonal nature of the reagent means it binds multiple epitopes on TCTN3, which can be advantageous when working with samples in which post-translational modification or partial proteolysis might otherwise reduce signal from a single-epitope monoclonal. Synonyms recognised in the literature include C10orf61, TECT3 and Tectonic-3. The antibody is intended for research use only and is not validated for diagnostic or therapeutic applications.
