TCN1 (Transcobalamin 1), also called haptocorrin or R-binder, is a glycoprotein secreted by salivary glands and granulocytes that binds vitamin B12 (cobalamin) in circulation and protects it from acid degradation in the stomach. Antibodies.com offers this rabbit polyclonal reagent for researchers studying cobalamin transport, gastric mucosal biology, and granulocyte-derived malignancies such as chronic myeloid leukemia, where TCN1 overexpression is a recognized marker.

Validated for western blot (WB) and immunohistochemistry (IHC) on human samples, the unconjugated antibody is supplied at 1 mg/ml in PBS with 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol, packaged as a 100 ul vial. Researchers can pair it with HRP- or fluorophore-conjugated secondary antibodies for chromogenic, fluorescence, or chemiluminescent detection. For IHC, antigen retrieval in citrate buffer (pH 6.0) is a typical starting point for paraffin-embedded sections.

Storage and handling: keep the vial refrigerated for short-term use; for long-term stability, aliquot and freeze at -20 degrees C, limiting freeze-thaw cycles to preserve antibody activity. Sodium azide in the formulation is incompatible with some downstream conjugation chemistries, so a buffer exchange may be required before amine-reactive dye coupling.
