TCAP, also called titin-cap or telethonin, is a small sarcomeric protein localized to the Z-discs of striated muscle, where it binds the N-terminal Z-disc region of titin and contributes to sarcomere assembly and mechanical force transmission. Mutations in the TCAP gene have been linked to limb-girdle muscular dystrophy type 2G and to dilated cardiomyopathy, making the protein a subject of active investigation in muscle biology and cardiac research.

This Antibodies.com primary antibody is a rabbit polyclonal reagent raised against TCAP and supplied as an unconjugated, 100 µl liquid format intended for Western blot and immunofluorescence workflows on human samples. Because the reagent is polyclonal, it recognizes multiple epitopes across the TCAP protein, which can be useful when probing truncated isoforms or post-translationally modified states. Researchers studying Z-disc integrity, titin interactions, or skeletal and cardiac muscle disease models can use it to detect endogenous TCAP expression in cell and tissue lysates by WB and to visualize Z-disc localization by IF.

Refrigerate the vial for short-term use, then aliquot before freezing at -20 °C for longer term storage; limit freeze-thaw cycles to preserve activity. For research use only.
