Raised in rabbit against a phosphorylated epitope, this polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com targets TBC1D4 (also called AS160) at threonine 642, an Akt/PKB substrate site modified in response to insulin stimulation. Detection of this phosphorylation event is widely used to monitor insulin-stimulated signaling, GLUT4 trafficking, and downstream metabolic responses in cell-line and primary tissue models.

The antibody is supplied as 100 µl of liquid at approximately 1 mg/ml in PBS containing 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol, an unconjugated preparation suited to western blot, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence workflows. Reactivity has been demonstrated on human, mouse, and rat samples, supporting studies of skeletal muscle, adipose, and hepatic insulin sensitivity, as well as broader research into type 2 diabetes, exercise-induced glucose uptake, and AMPK-related signaling cross-talk.

Because the reagent is phospho-specific, aliquoting is recommended to limit repeated freeze-thaw cycles. The vial should be stored refrigerated for short-term use, with longer-term storage at -20 °C to preserve activity. The polyclonal format offers recognition of multiple epitopes on the phosphorylated target, which can be advantageous for detecting low-abundance signaling bands in western blot analysis.
