Offered through Antibodies.com as a primary monoclonal reagent for tuberculosis research, this mouse IgG1 clone (A2H8) is raised against the recombinant Mycobacterium tuberculosis 38 kDa antigen cloned from the virulent H37Rv strain. The antibody is supplied in lyophilised form in 0.01 M PBS, pH 7.0, as a 500 µg aliquot that is Protein G affinity purified and is intended to be reconstituted in double-distilled water to a final concentration of approximately 1.00 mg/mL. It is unconjugated, of the IgG1 kappa isotype, and was produced in the Sp2/0-Ag14 fusion myeloma line, with the immunogen being a recombinant M. tuberculosis protein targeting the 38 kDa antigen. The reagent is validated for ELISA and Western blot, where it detects the recombinant immunogen in ELISA and shows the corresponding band on Western blot, and it is reactive to the recombinant M. tuberculosis 38 kDa antigen with cross-reaction to other proteins not identified. Reported species reactivity is Human, consistent with its use in studies of the M. tuberculosis 38 kDa antigen for serological and immunoblot applications. The lyophilised product should be stored at -20 °C; after reconstitution, it can be kept at +4 °C for short-term use with aliquoting and storage at -20 °C recommended for longer term to avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles. For research use only, this reagent provides a well-characterised tool for laboratories working on TB antigen detection, biomarker development, and immunodiagnostic assay design.
