A rabbit polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com raised against the Tau microtubule-associated protein, specifically recognizing phosphorylation at the serine 199 (S199) epitope. Tau phosphorylation at S199 is a frequently studied post-translational modification linked to neurofibrillary tangle pathology in Alzheimer's disease and other tauopathies, and antibodies targeting this phospho-site are widely used in neuroscience and neurodegeneration research. The unconjugated antibody is supplied at 1 mg/ml in phosphate buffered saline with 0.05% sodium azide at approximately pH 7.2, and has been validated for Western blot and immunohistochemistry on human, mouse, and rat tissue samples. Each 100 µl vial supports numerous blotting or staining experiments, and the polyclonal format enables recognition of multiple epitopes flanking the S199 phospho-site, increasing tolerance for minor structural variation in the target. Store refrigerated in the original buffer to preserve antibody activity across the product shelf life, and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles when aliquoting for long-term use.
