Manufactured by Anogen (catalogue MO-M40099B) and distributed under the Antibodies.com brand, this mouse monoclonal primary antibody is clone 7G9, raised against the Thr181-phosphorylated region of the Tau protein. It is supplied as a 500 µg lyophilised powder (unconjugated) reconstituted in 0.01 M PBS pH 7.2, with Protein G affinity purification and a recommended final working concentration of 1.00 mg/mL in double-distilled water. The antibody is of the IgG2a (kappa) isotype and was generated from the Sp2/0-Ag14 fusion myeloma using the immunogen KLH conjugated to the phosphopeptide APKT(p)PPSSGE, corresponding to residues 177–187 of human Tau. It is validated for Western blot (recommended dilution 1:2000, ~0.5 µg/mL), where it detects an approximately 46 kDa band in mouse brain tissue lysate, and cross-reactivity with the unphosphorylated peptide is reported as undetectable or very low. The reagent reacts with both human and mouse Tau, making it a useful reagent for Alzheimer's disease and broader neurodegenerative-disease research workflows. For long-term stability, the lyophilised product should be stored at 2–8 °C short term and at –20 °C after reconstitution, with freeze/thaw cycles avoided.
