Anti-Tau (phospho-T231) Antibody

From Antibodies.com's range of primary antibodies, this rabbit polyclonal reagent recognises Tau only when phosphorylated at threonine 231. The unconjugated antibody is formulated at 1 mg/ml in phosphate buffered saline (PBS) containing 0.05% sodium azide at approximately pH 7.2, and is validated for Western blot applications. It reacts with human, mouse, and rat samples.

The immunogen is a synthetic phosphopeptide derived from human Tau-4 isoforms around the threonine 231 phosphorylation site. By Western blot, the target protein migrates at approximately 50 to 80 kDa. The antibody has been affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum using epitope-specific immunogen, with purity exceeding 95 percent by SDS-PAGE.

Specificity is restricted to phosphorylated Tau, detecting endogenous levels of the Tau-3 and Tau-4 isoforms phosphorylated at Thr231, the Tau-4 isoform phosphorylated at Thr548, and other isoforms phosphorylated at the corresponding site.
