This rabbit polyclonal IgG reagent from Antibodies.com binds the Tau microtubule-associated protein only when serine 356 carries a phosphate group, targeting an epitope within the C-terminal projection region implicated in neuronal stress signaling and altered microtubule dynamics. In Alzheimer's disease, frontotemporal dementia, and broader tauopathy research, S356 site-specific antibodies serve as a tool for mapping how post-translational modification patterns shift between healthy brain tissue, early-stage pathology, and advanced neurofibrillary tangle-bearing regions. The marker complements other phospho-epitope reagents raised against S202, T205, S396, and S404 when constructing site-specific modification profiles in iPSC-derived neuron cultures and rodent models of tauopathy.

Validated for Western blot and immunofluorescence workflows, the antibody is supplied as 50 µl of unconjugated antiserum that pairs flexibly with HRP- or fluorophore-conjugated secondary reagents depending on whether chemiluminescent or imaging readouts are required. Polyclonal recognition of multiple epitopes flanking the phospho-S356 site enables detection of full-length and truncated Tau isoforms in cell lysates, brain homogenates, and fixed tissue sections derived from human, mouse, and rat samples.

Aliquot upon receipt and store at -20 °C in working volumes to limit freeze-thaw cycles, protecting the vial from light between sessions.
