This rabbit polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com is raised against the Tau microtubule-associated protein and selectively binds the phosphorylated serine 235 (pS235) epitope, a site located within the proline-rich region upstream of the microtubule-binding repeats. The unconjugated IgG antibody is supplied at 200 µl and is validated for Western blot detection in human, mouse, and rat samples.

Site-specific phosphorylation at S235 has been documented in studies of Alzheimer's disease and related tauopathies, where elevated modification at this residue contributes to the pool of aberrantly modified Tau that drives neurofibrillary pathology. The antibody is therefore a useful probe for laboratories comparing phospho-Tau levels across disease models, including transgenic mice expressing human MAPT, rat injury paradigms, and human induced pluripotent stem cell-derived neuronal cultures differentiated into cortical or forebrain neuron lineages.

For Western blot, aliquot the antibody upon receipt and store at -20 °C, limiting freeze-thaw cycles to maintain phospho-epitope recognition. The polyclonal format broadens recognition of the modified residue across differing Tau isoforms, which is helpful when working with samples where the relative expression of 3R and 4R Tau isoforms may shift between experimental conditions.
