Raised in rabbit against a synthetic phospho-peptide derived from the proline-rich region of human microtubule-associated protein Tau (MAPT, UniProt P10636), this polyclonal IgG reagent from Antibodies.com selectively recognizes the phosphorylated serine 235 residue and does not detect non-phosphorylated Tau. The unconjugated antibody is affinity-purified from rabbit serum on a phospho-peptide column and is validated for Western blot detection of endogenous phospho-Tau in Human, Mouse, and Rat samples, enabling cross-species investigation of Tau pathology in Alzheimer's disease brain lysates, tauopathy cell lines, and rodent disease models. Suggested immunoblotting dilutions are 1:500 to 1:1000, with the antigen resolving at the expected 78 kDa band corresponding to full-length Tau isoforms.

Supplied as100 µl of liquid antibody in phosphate-buffered saline (pH 7.4) containing 150 mM NaCl, 0.02% sodium azide, and 50% glycerol, the reagent should be stored frozen at -20 °C in working aliquots to preserve phospho-specific binding activity and to limit repeated freeze-thaw cycles. For research use only, this primary antibody supports studies of aberrant Tau phosphorylation, paired helical filament formation, and kinase signalling pathways that modulate serine235 in the microtubule-binding repeat region of MAPT.
