This rabbit polyclonal antibody, supplied by Antibodies.com, is raised against a phosphorylated epitope centered on the P206 region of the microtubule-associated protein Tau, enabling selective detection of tau species carrying this post-translational modification. The reagent is unconjugated and formulated at 1 mg/ml in phosphate buffered saline (PBS) containing 0.05% sodium azide at approximately pH 7.2, and each vial contains 50 µl of ready-to-use antibody for short-term bench workflows.

It has been validated for Western blot (WB) and immunofluorescence (IF) workflows and is reactive with mouse and rat samples, making it a practical reagent for studies of tau biology in rodent models of neurodegeneration and tauopathy. The polyclonal nature of the host response provides recognition of multiple epitopes surrounding the P206 phospho-site, which can be advantageous when probing conformational or post-translationally modified variants of tau in brain homogenates, primary cell culture lysates, or fixed tissue sections.

For storage, the buffered formulation is stable when refrigerated at 2 to 8 degrees C in the dark and should be protected from light to preserve antibody activity. Aliquoting is recommended to limit repeated freeze-thaw cycles if longer-term storage below freezing is needed. The unconjugated format allows downstream pairing with fluorophore- or enzyme-labelled secondary reagents chosen by the researcher, supporting flexible detection strategies across standard immunoassay platforms.
