Raised in rabbit against the Tau microtubule-associated protein, this polyclonal IgG reagent from Antibodies.com is supplied as a liquid preparation at 50 µg per vial and validated for Western blot and ELISA workflows. Tau is an axonal, neuron-enriched phosphoprotein best known for stabilizing microtubules in the cytoskeleton, and it is the principal component of the paired helical filaments that accumulate as neurofibrillary tangles in Alzheimer's disease and a broader family of tauopathies. Recognition of endogenous human, mouse, and rat Tau makes the antibody useful for researchers comparing normal versus pathological phosphorylation states, mapping isoform expression across brain regions, or probing tau aggregation in cell and animal models of neurodegeneration. As an unconjugated primary antibody it can be paired with HRP, fluorophore, or biotin-labelled secondary reagents chosen by the end user, which keeps the format flexible for immunoblotting, plate-based immunoassays, and standard immunodetection protocols.
