Offered through Antibodies.com, this affinity-purified reagent is a rabbit polyclonal antibody (IgG) raised against a synthetic peptide encompassing residues 394–398 (Y-K-S-P-V) of the human Tau sequence. It is supplied as an unconjugated, liquid preparation at 1.0 mg/mL in a 50 µL volume of phosphate-buffered saline (pH 7.4) containing 150 mM NaCl, 0.02% sodium azide, and 50% glycerol, and it has been purified by epitope-specific affinity chromatography to maximize target selectivity. The antibody recognizes the endogenous total Tau pool and is validated for Western blotting (WB) and immunohistochemistry (IHC) on human, mouse, and rat samples, giving laboratories a flexible tool for both membrane-based detection and tissue-section imaging in neuroscience and neurodegenerative-disease research workflows. Recommended working dilutions, as reported on the supplier datasheet, are approximately 1:500–1:1000 for WB and 1:50–1:100 for IHC, allowing straightforward optimization across sample types. The reagent is shipped at 4 °C for cold-chain stability; upon arrival it should be aliquoted and stored at –20 °C, with repeated freeze/thaw cycles avoided to preserve binding activity and prevent loss of titre. Intended for research use only and not for diagnostic or therapeutic applications, this polyclonal Tau reagent provides reproducible recognition of the target without the constraints of a pre-conjugated format, leaving users free to pair it with their preferred secondary antibody and detection chemistry.
