The polyclonal rabbit antibody from Antibodies.com is raised against the microtubule-associated protein Tau and is intended for Western blot detection across human, mouse, and rat samples. Provided as a 50 µl liquid at 1 mg/ml in phosphate buffered saline containing 0.05% sodium azide at approximately pH 7.2, the unconjugated reagent integrates directly into standard immunoblotting workflows without the need for secondary conjugation prior to use.

Tau is a neuronal phosphoprotein best known for its role in stabilizing axonal microtubules and for its pathological aggregation in Alzheimer's disease, progressive supranuclear palsy, corticobasal degeneration, and chronic traumatic encephalopathy. Researchers use this reagent to probe total Tau levels, isoform expression patterns, and disease-associated phosphorylation events in brain tissue and cultured neuronal cell lysates. For long-term use, aliquot the antibody to limit repeated freeze-thaw cycles of the working stock and refrigerate the vial between experiments.
