This polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com is raised in rabbits and targets the TAP2 protein (Transporter 2, ATP-binding cassette sub-family B member), an ATP-dependent peptide transporter embedded in the endoplasmic reticulum membrane. TAP2 forms one half of the heterodimeric TAP complex with its partner TAP1, where the heterodimer translocates short cytosolic peptide fragments into the ER lumen so they can be loaded onto nascent MHC class I molecules — a core step in the classical antigen processing and presentation pathway.

The unconjugated antibody is supplied as a 100 µl liquid aliquot and has been validated for western blot, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence workflows. Reactivity testing supports detection of the human, mouse, and rat orthologues, making it suitable for comparative immunology studies, immune cell culture work, and investigations of bare lymphocyte syndrome type I, in which loss-of-function mutations at the TAP2 locus on chromosome 6p21.32 disrupt peptide translocation and surface MHC class I expression.

Aliquot and store at -20°C in working volumes to limit freeze-thaw cycles, and protect from light. With a polyclonal clonality and unconjugated format, the reagent can be paired with secondary antibodies of the researcher's choice for chromogenic or fluorescent detection on tissue sections and cultured cells. For research use only.
