Raised in rabbit, this polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com specifically detects transaldolase 1 (TALDO1), a key enzyme of the non-oxidative pentose phosphate pathway that connects carbohydrate metabolism to nucleotide biosynthesis and redox balance.

Supplied as 100 µl at 1 mg/ml in PBS with 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol, the unconjugated antibody is ready for direct labeling or use with standard secondary-detection workflows. It is validated for western blot (WB) and immunohistochemistry (IHC) and shows reactivity against human, mouse, and rat samples, making it a practical choice for comparative studies across cultured cells, rodent tissue, and patient-derived material.

TALDO1 catalyzes the reversible transfer of a three-carbon dihydroxyacetone unit from sedoheptulose-7-phosphate to glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate. Altered expression has been linked to transaldolase deficiency, hepatocellular injury, and certain cancer metabolic phenotypes, so researchers apply this antibody to probe PPP flux, characterize inborn errors of carbohydrate metabolism, and map glycolysis-to-pentose-phosphate rewiring in tumor and immune cells.

For routine handling, aliquot the vial upon receipt to limit freeze-thaw cycles, store at -20 °C in the supplied glycerol buffer, and protect from light to preserve the unconjugated immunoglobulin fraction.
