The TAL1 protein (T-cell acute lymphocytic leukemia 1) is a basic helix-loop-helix transcription factor critical for early hematopoiesis and vascular development. Aberrant TAL1 expression is frequently associated with T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia, where the altered chromatin landscape at TAL1 regulatory elements is a key oncogenic event. Acetylation at lysines 221 and 222 represents an important post-translational modification that influences TAL1 transcriptional activity, DNA binding, and protein-protein interactions within hematopoietic progenitor cells.

This polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com specifically recognizes TAL1 when acetylated at the K221/K222 residues, enabling selective detection of this modified form over the unmodified protein. Raised in rabbit, the reagent is supplied as an unconjugated preparation at 1 mg/ml in phosphate buffered saline (PBS, approx. pH 7.3) containing 0.05% sodium azide as a preservative. The antibody is validated for Western blot detection across human, mouse, and rat samples, supporting comparative studies in normal and leukemic hematopoiesis research.

For optimal performance, aliquot the antibody upon receipt to limit freeze-thaw cycles and store refrigerated at -20°C. Each vial contains 100 µL of reagent, providing ample material for multiple blotting experiments and long-term use in the laboratory.
