The Antibodies.com Anti-TAF1 Antibody is a rabbit polyclonal IgG raised against TAF1 (TATA-box binding protein-associated factor 1), the approximately 250 kDa scaffold subunit of the transcription factor IID (TFIID) complex. TAF1 harbors intrinsic kinase and acetyltransferase domains that contribute to chromatin modification and assembly of the RNA polymerase II pre-initiation complex, and it has been linked to cell-cycle progression and X-linked intellectual disability when mutated. This unconjugated reagent is supplied as 100 µl of liquid in a single-use vial and has been validated for western blot (WB) and immunofluorescence (IF) detection of endogenous TAF1 in human, hamster, mouse, and rat samples. Aliquot upon receipt and store at -20 °C to protect antibody activity; working dilutions can be kept briefly at 4 °C. Centrifuge briefly before opening and avoid excessive freeze-thaw cycles to preserve IgG performance. For research use only.
