The TACR1 protein, also called NK1 receptor or neurokinin 1 receptor, is a G protein-coupled receptor that binds the neuropeptide substance P and mediates downstream tachykinin signaling in neuronal and non-neuronal tissues. This unconjugated Antibodies.com reagent is a rabbit polyclonal IgG preparation raised against TACR1, supplied as a 50 µl liquid volume and validated for Western blot detection of endogenous human and mouse protein.

Because TACR1 couples to Gq/11 and triggers phospholipase C activation, researchers use anti-TACR1 antibodies to map receptor expression in the central nervous system, dorsal root ganglia, enteric neurons, immune cells, and smooth muscle. Western blot with this reagent typically resolves a band in the 45–55 kDa region, consistent with the predicted molecular weight of the full-length NK1 receptor. The polyclonal format broadens epitope coverage across intracellular and extracellular regions, which can be useful when probing receptor isoforms, internalization states, or splice variants.

Primary application is immunoblotting of cell and tissue lysates; secondary uses reported by users include validation of TACR1 overexpression or knockdown in transfected lines, and confirmation of receptor upregulation in inflammatory and chronic pain models. Storage at -20 °C in working aliquots is recommended to limit freeze-thaw cycles and preserve antibody activity across repeated experiments.
