A polyclonal antibody reagent from Antibodies.com is raised in rabbit against tachykinin receptor 1 (TACR1), the seven-transmembrane G protein-coupled receptor that serves as the principal high-affinity binding site for the neuropeptide substance P. Supplied as 200 µl of unconjugated IgG antiserum in a single vial, this primary antibody is validated for Western Blot (WB) detection of endogenous TACR1 in human and mouse samples, making it suitable for studies of nociceptive signaling, neurogenic inflammation, and stress-related neural pathways where this receptor has a documented role in central and peripheral nervous system function.

Because the reagent is unconjugated, researchers can pair it with their preferred secondary reporter — HRP-conjugated, biotinylated, or fluorescent anti-rabbit IgG — and tune blocking conditions, antibody dilution, and detection chemistry to match their specific membrane and imaging workflow. The polyclonal composition recognizes multiple epitopes across the receptor protein, which improves tolerance to minor sample-to-sample variation. On SDS-PAGE the receptor migrates at roughly 46 kDa, and lysates prepared from transfected overexpression systems, primary neuronal cultures, or relevant tissue homogenates provide appropriate input for Western blot analysis.

Common laboratory applications include mapping TACR1 expression across neuronal and peripheral tissues, characterizing receptor regulation in models of chronic pain and inflammatory disease, and confirming CRISPR or siRNA knock-down of the NK1 receptor in cultured human or murine cell lines. This research-use-only reagent is intended for laboratory investigation of tachykinin pharmacology and receptor biology, and is not for diagnostic or therapeutic application.
