The T7 tag is an 11-amino acid leader peptide (sequence MASMTGGQQMG) derived from the bacteriophage T7 gene 10 capsid protein. When fused to the N- or C-terminus of a recombinant protein, this small epitope enables straightforward detection and affinity purification using a specific anti-tag antibody.

This Antibodies.com mouse monoclonal IgG1 reagent is supplied as 100 µg of liquid antibody and is validated for Western Blot and Immunoprecipitation workflows. The unconjugated format gives full flexibility for downstream labeling with HRP, biotin, fluorophores, or beads according to experimental design. For Western Blot, a working dilution of 1:1000 to 1:5000 is a typical starting range, while 1 to 5 µg per IP reaction is commonly sufficient to pull down tagged fusion proteins from cell lysates.

For best results, store the vial at -20°C in aliquots to limit freeze-thaw cycles, and avoid prolonged exposure to light if any downstream fluorescent conjugation is planned. As a research use only reagent, this antibody is intended for laboratory detection of T7-tagged constructs expressed in bacterial, yeast, or mammalian systems.
