Raised in rabbit against SYT2, this polyclonal IgG reagent from Antibodies.com is supplied as a 100 µl liquid vial of unconjugated antibody for Western blot detection of endogenous synaptotagmin-2 protein. SYT2 (also known as synaptotagmin II) is a transmembrane synaptic-vesicle protein that acts as a calcium sensor controlling fast, synchronous neurotransmitter release at presynaptic terminals, and it is a widely investigated target in neuroscience research on synaptic transmission, vesicle exocytosis, and neuromuscular junction function.

The antibody is reactive against human, mouse, and rat samples and is affinity purified. Because it is unconjugated, it pairs with a labelled secondary antibody of the researcher's choice, supporting either chemiluminescent or fluorescent Western blot workflows on cell or tissue lysates. The reagent is intended for research use only and should be stored aliquoted at -20°C to preserve activity across multiple freeze-thaw cycles, with short-term handling at 4°C acceptable.

Researchers commonly use SYT2 antibodies to study synaptic vesicle biology, neuronal differentiation, and disease-associated mutations linked to congenital myasthenic syndrome, as well as to validate SYT2 expression in brain, spinal cord, and motor neuron lysates by Western blot.
