Anti-Synaptophysin Antibody

This rabbit polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com is raised against Synaptophysin and supplied unconjugated. It is validated for Western Blot (WB) and reacts with Human, Mouse and Rat samples.

The immunogen is a synthetic peptide sequence around amino acids 305–309 (A-P-T-S-F) derived from human Synaptophysin. The antibody detects endogenous levels of total Synaptophysin protein. Antibodies were produced by immunizing rabbits with the synthetic peptide and KLH conjugates, then purified by affinity chromatography using the epitope-specific peptide.

The reagent is supplied at 1.0 mg/mL in phosphate-buffered saline (without Mg²⁺ and Ca²⁺), pH 7.4, containing 150 mM NaCl, 0.02% sodium azide and 50% glycerol. It is shipped at 4°C; upon delivery it should be aliquoted and stored at -20°C, with freeze/thaw cycles avoided. Synaptophysin is widely used as a pan-neuronal marker and synaptic marker.
