Phospho-specific detection of synapsin-1 at serine 549 is enabled by this rabbit polyclonal IgG antibody from Antibodies.com, raised against the C-terminal region flanking the CaMKII/PKA target site. Supplied as 100 µl of unconjugated antiserum, the reagent is validated for Western blot on lysates from human, mouse, and rat neural tissue, where it produces a band consistent with the expected synapsin-1 isoform pattern. Synapsin-1 is a presynaptic vesicle-associated phosphoprotein whose phosphorylation state controls synaptic vesicle pool mobilization, and probing the S549 residue specifically is a common readout in studies of long-term potentiation, seizure models, and synaptogenesis. The polyclonal backbone broadens epitope coverage around the phospho-epitope, which improves signal when input protein is limiting. The antibody is presented as a research-use-only reagent and should be stored refrigerated in small aliquots to avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles; protect from light when not in use.
