Synaptic vesicle glycoprotein 2C (SV2C) is a transmembrane transporter-like protein localized to secretory vesicles in neurons, where it modulates neurotransmitter release and calcium-dependent exocytosis. This polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com was raised in rabbit and is supplied as 100 µl of IgG for Western blot detection of endogenous SV2C in mouse and rat tissue. SV2C expression is concentrated in striatal and midbrain dopaminergic regions, and downregulation of the protein has been documented in Parkinson's disease models, making it a relevant marker for neuroscience and neurodegeneration research. The unconjugated antibody is compatible with standard immunoblotting workflows, including sample preparation from brain homogenates and separation by SDS-PAGE prior to transfer. Researchers studying synaptic vesicle cycling, dopamine neuron viability, or basal ganglia circuitry will find this reagent useful for probing SV2C levels across developmental and disease contexts.
