This polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com is raised in rabbit and specifically recognizes SUMO3, a small ubiquitin-like modifier protein of approximately 11.7 kDa that covalently attaches to lysine residues on substrate proteins in a process known as SUMOylation. SUMO3 shares roughly 97% sequence identity with SUMO2, so the two paralogs are commonly detected together as SUMO2/3 conjugates, which migrate at higher apparent molecular weights alongside the free 11.7 kDa band on SDS-PAGE.

The reagent is supplied as 100 µl at 1 mg/ml in PBS containing 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol, a formulation that remains liquid at -20°C storage and avoids freeze-thaw damage. It is unconjugated and validated for Western blot, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence workflows against human, mouse, and rat samples.

Because SUMO3 participates in DNA damage signaling, transcriptional regulation, and stress-response pathways, this Primary Antibodies reagent is useful for studying post-translational modification dynamics, nuclear transport, and stress granule biology, and can be paired with labeled secondary antibodies for chromogenic or fluorescent detection in fixed cells and tissue sections.
