Raised in rabbit and supplied by Antibodies.com as 100 µl of polyclonal serum, this unconjugated Anti-SUMO3 Antibody recognizes the Small Ubiquitin-like Modifier 3 protein, a ubiquitin-like polypeptide that is covalently conjugated to lysine residues on substrate proteins during SUMOylation. SUMO3 shares roughly 97% sequence identity with its paralog SUMO2 and is distinguished biochemically by its capacity to assemble polymeric chains under cellular stress conditions such as heat shock, oxidative stress, and DNA damage, where it contributes to chromatin remodeling, transcriptional regulation, and recruitment of SUMO-targeted ubiquitin ligases such as RNF4. The reagent is an IgG isotype polyclonal preparation validated for Western blot and immunofluorescence workflows on human and mouse samples, supporting studies of post-translational modification biology in cancer signaling, neuronal stress responses, and cell cycle regulation. On Western blot, unconjugated SUMO3 runs near 12 kDa, with higher-molecular-weight species reflecting covalent SUMO3 conjugates within the substrate pool.
