Anti-SUMO2 Antibody

This rabbit polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com recognizes SUMO2 (Small Ubiquitin-like Modifier 2), an approximately 12 kDa ubiquitin-like protein that is covalently attached to lysine residues on target substrates as part of the SUMOylation pathway. The unconjugated IgG antibody is supplied as 100 µl of stock and is validated for Western blot (WB) and immunohistochemistry (IHC) on human, mouse, and rat samples.

SUMO2 participates in stress response, regulation of transcription factors, nuclear transport, and DNA damage repair. Because SUMO2 shares nearly identical sequence with SUMO3, this reagent also recognizes the SUMO2/3 pool, supporting studies of global SUMO-conjugate accumulation in response to heat shock, oxidative stress, or proteasome inhibition. Researchers commonly use it to track changes in high-molecular-weight SUMOylated species that appear as characteristic smears above the free SUMO band on Western blots.

For the unconjugated format, the antibody should be aliquoted upon receipt and stored at -20°C, with refrigeration at 4°C acceptable for short-term use. Repeated freeze-thaw cycles should be avoided to preserve binding activity. The reagent is intended for research use only and is not approved for diagnostic or therapeutic applications.
