Polyclonal antibody targeting SUMO1 for SUMOylation studies

Raised in rabbit against Small Ubiquitin-like Modifier 1 (SUMO1), this unconjugated primary antibody from Antibodies.com detects endogenous SUMO1 as well as SUMO1-conjugated species in cell lysates and tissue samples. SUMO1 is a ~11.5 kDa ubiquitin-like protein that covalently attaches to lysine residues on substrate proteins through an isopeptide bond, in a reversible post-translational modification known as SUMOylation. SUMOylation modulates target protein activity, subcellular localization, stability, and protein-protein interaction networks, and is implicated in DNA damage response, transcriptional regulation, nuclear transport, oxidative stress signaling, and cell-cycle progression.

The reagent is supplied as 100 µl of polyclonal antisera and is validated for western blot, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence workflows. It shows reactivity with SUMO1 from Human, Mouse, and Rat, supporting cross-species comparisons across fixed cells, frozen tissue sections, and whole-cell lysate preparations. As an unconjugated primary reagent, it can be paired with HRP- or fluorophore-conjugated anti-rabbit secondary antibodies for chromogenic IHC, fluorescent imaging, or chemiluminescent western blot detection.

For immunohistochemistry and immunofluorescence, dilute into an appropriate blocking buffer and apply to paraformaldehyde-fixed cells or tissue cryosections. For western blot, dilute into TBST-based buffer and probe whole-cell lysates resolved by SDS-PAGE. Store refrigerated; aliquot the stock to limit freeze-thaw cycles and preserve antibody activity over time.
