Anti-SUMO-2 (G93) Antibody

This rabbit polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com targets SUMO-2 (Small Ubiquitin-like Modifier 2), a ~12 kDa ubiquitin-like protein that covalently modifies substrate proteins and regulates stress response, transcription, and nuclear transport. The antibody was raised against a synthetic peptide mapping to the region around Glycine 93 (G93) of human SUMO-2, a C-terminal epitope that is conserved in the closely related SUMO-3 paralog.

In western blot, the reagent detects both free unconjugated SUMO-2 and higher-molecular-weight SUMO-2 conjugates in cell lysates. Because SUMO-2 and SUMO-3 share approximately 97 percent sequence identity, the antibody recognizes both paralogs in immunoblotting. For western blot of cell or tissue lysates, the antibody is typically used in the 1:500 to 1:2000 dilution range with chemiluminescent detection.

Storage: Keep the vial at -20 degrees C in single-use aliquots to limit freeze-thaw cycles; the 50 percent glycerol buffer prevents the solution from freezing at this temperature. Protect from light. Short-term handling at 4 degrees C is acceptable for active working stocks.
