The Antibodies.com SULT2A1 reagent is a rabbit polyclonal antibody that recognizes human sulfotransferase 2A1, a cytosolic enzyme best known for catalyzing the sulfation of dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA), pregnenolone, bile acids, and phenolic xenobiotics. Validated for western blot and immunohistochemistry, the unconjugated antibody is supplied in a 100 µl volume, giving laboratories flexibility to pair it with their own HRP, biotin, or fluorophore-labeled secondary reagents. Because SULT2A1 is most highly expressed in the liver, adrenal cortex, and steroidogenic tissues, researchers apply it to map hormone-metabolizing capacity across normal and diseased specimens, including adrenocortical tumors, hepatocellular carcinoma, and studies of phase II drug-metabolizing enzyme regulation. The polyclonal format allows recognition of multiple epitopes on the target, an advantage when probing endogenous protein levels in cell lysates or formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded sections. Working with human samples, this reagent supports chromogenic IHC and chemiluminescent western blot workflows investigating bile acid homeostasis, endocrine sulfation pathways, and steroid metabolism.
