A cytosolic sulfotransferase encoded by the SULT1A3 gene on chromosome 16p11.2, the 295-residue ~34 kDa target protein is the thermolabile monoamine-preferring phenol sulfotransferase that catalyzes the sulfate conjugation of dopamine, norepinephrine, epinephrine, and serotonin in humans. Antibodies.com supplies this unconjugated rabbit polyclonal IgG reagent in a 200 µL vial volume for Western blot detection of the enzyme in human, mouse, and rat samples, where it is broadly expressed in liver, intestinal mucosa, platelets, and brain. The affinity-purified antibody is intended for probing cell lysates and tissue extracts; on Western blot the target band is observed near the calculated 34 kDa molecular weight. For continuous use, store the vial refrigerated and aliquot to minimize freeze-thaw cycles; short-term handling at 4 °C is acceptable. The reagent supports research into phase II biotransformation, dopamine catabolism, catecholamine clearance, and the sulfation of phenolic drugs and dietary xenobiotics, and is offered for research use only.
