SUCLA2 (Succinate-CoA Ligase ADP-Forming Subunit Beta) is a mitochondrial matrix enzyme that catalyzes the reversible ATP- or GTP-dependent conversion of succinyl-CoA to succinate within the citric acid cycle. This unconjugated rabbit polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com is supplied as 100 µl of antiserum and is validated for western blot, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence detection of the endogenous human protein in studies of mitochondrial bioenergetics and TCA-cycle flux.

Because loss-of-function mutations in SUCLA2 cause autosomal-recessive mitochondrial DNA depletion syndromes and early-onset encephalomyopathy with lactic acidosis, the antibody is widely used to assess mitochondrial mass in patient fibroblasts, skeletal muscle biopsies, and derived cellular models, where it complements mtDNA copy-number quantification and respiratory-chain enzymology.

The reagent also serves as a reliable mitochondrial-matrix marker in neuroscience and metabolic-disease workflows, where SUCLA2 abundance correlates with oxidative-phosphorylation capacity. Aliquot upon receipt and store refrigerated; limit freeze-thaw cycles to preserve titre. For research use only.
