STXBP2, also known as Munc18-2, is a cytoplasmic syntaxin-binding protein required for SNARE-mediated membrane fusion during the regulated exocytosis of cytotoxic granules in lymphocytes and the secretion of platelet alpha-granules. This rabbit polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com targets the human STXBP2 antigen and is supplied as 100 µl of unconjugated antiserum, validated for western blot analysis of cell lysates and for immunohistochemistry on fixed tissue sections.

STXBP2 has clinical relevance in familial hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis type 5 (FHL5), where loss-of-function mutations impair lymphocyte cytotoxicity and NK-cell granule release, leading to immune dysregulation. Researchers also use anti-STXBP2 antibodies to study platelet dense-granule release defects and mast-cell degranulation pathways. Because the reagent is polyclonal and raised in rabbit, it offers broader epitope coverage than monoclonal alternatives, which is useful when screening patient samples for missense variants or truncated isoforms that retain immunogenic regions.

The antibody is provided as a liquid aliquot of 100 µl in a standard vial and should be stored refrigerated; aliquoting upon first use is recommended to limit repeated freeze-thaw cycles. Host species is rabbit, clonality is polyclonal, conjugate is unconjugated, and validated reactivity is reported for human samples based on the supporting characterization data.
