STXBP1 (Syntaxin-Binding Protein 1), also referred to as Munc18-1, is a 67 kDa cytosolic scaffolding protein essential for synaptic vesicle docking and SNARE-mediated fusion at the presynaptic active zone. It binds Syntaxin-1 in a closed conformation and is required for neurotransmitter release, making it a marker of interest in neuroscience, synaptic physiology, and developmental neurobiology research.

This rabbit polyclonal antibody is supplied by Antibodies.com as 100 µl of unconjugated antiserum in a vial, validated for Western blot (WB) and immunohistochemistry (IHC) on human, mouse, and rat samples. Western blot of brain or neuroendocrine cell lysates yields a band near 67 kDa, while IHC labels neuronal cell bodies and synaptic-rich regions, supporting studies of synaptic architecture, neuronal differentiation, and disease-associated dysregulation.

STXBP1 haploinsufficiency and missense variants cause STXBP1 encephalopathy and early infantile epileptic encephalopathy type 4 (EIEE4), so this reagent is frequently used to characterize patient-derived neurons, iPSC models, and Stxbp1 knockout rodents. Researchers also deploy it to probe Munc18-1 expression in models of Parkinson's disease, traumatic brain injury, and metabolic stress, where altered presynaptic release is implicated.

Store the vial at -20 °C in working aliquots to limit freeze-thaw cycles, and protect from light. For research use only; not intended for diagnostic or therapeutic applications.
