Anti-Streptococcus pneumoniae Antibody

Manufactured by Antibodies.com, this rabbit polyclonal primary antibody is raised against whole-cell preparations of Streptococcus pneumoniae and recognises surface antigens from serotypes 3, 4, 6, 7, 9, 14, 18, 19 and 23. It is supplied as an unconjugated, purified Ig fraction in a 500 µL liquid format, with the antibody provided in phosphate-buffered saline containing 0.1% sodium azide as preservative. The reagent is of the IgG isotype, purified by Protein A affinity chromatography, and is intended for research use only. Recommended applications include ELISA, immunofluorescence assay (IFA), Western blotting (WB) and immunohistochemistry (IHC), with a typical working dilution around 1:500 for IFA. The antibody reacts with S. pneumoniae and, because the antiserum is not cross-absorbed, may also show limited reactivity against related Gram-positive microorganisms. For short-term storage the vial should be kept liquid at 2–8 °C (up to six months); for longer-term storage, aliquot and freeze at −20 °C.
