This polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com targets STMN2 (Stathmin-2), a neuron-enriched microtubule-destabilizing protein also known as SCG10. STMN2 plays a critical role in neuronal differentiation, axon outgrowth, and microtubule dynamics. Recent research has highlighted STMN2 as a key biomarker in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) and frontotemporal dementia (FTD), where TDP-43 dysfunction leads to abnormal STMN2 mRNA splicing and reduced full-length protein levels in affected neurons.

Raised in Rabbit and supplied as an unconjugated 100 µl liquid aliquot, the reagent is validated for Western blot (WB) and immunofluorescence (IF) workflows and shows reactivity with Human samples. The polyclonal format recognizes multiple epitopes across the STMN2 sequence, which is advantageous when detecting both the canonical protein and shorter truncated isoforms that arise from cryptic splicing events in disease models. It is compatible with standard chemiluminescent WB detection on neuronal lysates and with IF labeling of cultured neurons or fixed tissue sections.

Investigators working on ALS, frontotemporal lobar degeneration, spinal muscular atrophy, and broader axonal-regeneration programs commonly deploy this reagent to track neuronal marker expression, microtubule stability, and TDP-43-related pathology. Researchers should aliquot the antibody to limit freeze-thaw cycles and store it refrigerated for routine bench use; the product is intended for research use only.
