STK11 Polyclonal Antibody for Tumor Suppressor Research

STK11 (also known as LKB1) is a serine/threonine kinase that acts as a master upstream activator of AMPK and the AMPK-related kinase family, coupling metabolic stress to growth, polarity, and energy-sensing pathways. Loss-of-function mutations in STK11 are linked to Peutz-Jeghers syndrome and to sporadic lung adenocarcinoma, so reliable detection of the endogenous protein matters for both basic signaling studies and translational oncology work.

Supplied by Antibodies.com as 100 µl of unconjugated rabbit polyclonal antiserum in a single vial, this reagent is validated for Western blot, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence on human, mouse, and rat samples. The unconjugated format leaves the end user free to pair it with HRP, fluorophore, or biotin secondary reagents, and the polyclonal backbone is well suited to detecting the full-length STK11 protein where monoclonal reagents may miss splice variants or post-translationally modified forms.

Typical uses include confirming expression of STK11 in knockout vs. wild-type control lysates, mapping subcellular localization of the kinase in polarized epithelial models, and screening tumor tissue microarrays for loss of STK11 signal. For best results, store refrigerated and aliquot on first use to limit freeze-thaw cycles, since polyclonal sera are prone to aggregation under repeated freeze-thaw stress.
