Stat4 (Signal Transducer and Activator of Transcription 4) is a cytoplasmic transcription factor activated by Janus kinases downstream of IL-12 and IL-23 receptor signaling. Phosphorylation at a critical tyrosine residue triggers dimerization, nuclear translocation, and transcription of Th1-lineage genes such as IFN-gamma, placing Stat4 at the center of cell-mediated immunity studies.

This rabbit polyclonal reagent was raised against an epitope in the region of residue E687 of human Stat4. It detects the protein on Western blots under denaturing conditions and in fixed tissue sections by immunohistochemistry, and it cross-reacts with mouse and rat Stat4 so that the same reagent can support comparative work across standard immunological models. The antibody is supplied unconjugated at 1 mg/ml in phosphate buffered saline (approximately pH 7.2) with 15 mM sodium azide as preservative, in a 50 µl pack sized for several pilot blots or staining runs.

Provided by Antibodies.com, the product is intended for research use only. Aliquot upon first thaw and store at -20°C to limit freeze-thaw damage to the polyclonal pool. Suggested starting ranges are 1:500-1:2000 for Western blotting and 1:50-1:200 for immunohistochemistry, with optimization recommended for each sample preparation and detection system.
